Mamores - Club Sunday

Bob Gardner, 29 January 2006

I think the intention was to see how the day transpired whether we go west or east after Na Gruagaichean both are horse shoes, as we neared the first top it got clearer and clearer with tremendous views, total inversion all around apart from the North more broken cloud, really warm sun, a great deal of lingering and photography.

It was decided to break west taking in Stob Coire a Chairn then on to Am Bodach, back down to the car via Sgurr an Fhuarain. 5 of us decided that time, inclination and ability we should go back down the stalkers track without doing Am Bodach. Got back to the car just as it got dark, the others carried on and arrived 20 minutes later after what can only be described as a brilliant day out.

10 of us parked at the foot of the Mamores(Kinlochleven) on Sunday the 29th January. It was a very dull grey day. Starting from sea level it means all the hills are a full day’s climbing.

A comfy refreshment in the local in Kinlochleven and home.

I reckon those that did the full circle did approx 4850ft of climbing during the day.

Cheers,

Bob
